About our Presenter

Rev. Alec Fisher is the Senior Pastor of Christ Lutheran Church in Hickory, NC. He received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from the University of Florida (2011) with a major in Judaic Studies. He received his Master of Divinity (M.Div.) and Master of Sacred Theology (S.T.M.) from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis (2016, 2019). During that time, he also studied at the Lutherische Theologische Hochschule in Oberursel, Germany (2013–2014). He is currently a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) student at the University of Birmingham where he researches bilingual New Testament manuscripts with the Institute for Textual Scholarship and Electronic Editing (ITSEE) in conjunction with the International Greek New Testament Project (IGNTP). He is also a guest instructor for Concordia Seminary teaching Latin, German, and a variety of courses in the SMP and EIIT programs and is translating the Latin text of “Liber de ortu et obitu patriarcharum” as part of the Brepols Corpus Christianorum series. Prior to accepting the call to Christ Lutheran Church, Rev. Fisher served as Pastor of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Odenton, MD (2017–2020).
